One Colorado woman’s experience with housing foreclosure points to potential problems with the current system, while lawmakers argue the pros and cons of added protections for homeowners. Cheryl Hoffman, of Golden, Colorado, was unfortunate enough to witness this process first hand. She went through a lengthy foreclosure process that included the title of her home being bought and sold so many times, in the end, she had no idea who actually owned the home. Lenders seemed to be having similar problems, as the property sat empty for months while various companies disputed ownership.
